We started the year going about our own lives, with no idea our parents were quietly playing matchmaker. It turns out God had a few plans of His own.

Our first phone call was on a Wednesday evening after work. We were in different time zones and knew very little about each other, but the conversation just flowed. We talked about our faith, our families, and the kind of marriage we hoped to build. The more we talked, the more it felt like two best friends finally finding each other.

Phone calls turned into FaceTimes, and soon Ben flew to Dallas for Valentine’s Day. We spent the whole day together and were surprised by how natural it felt. Everything we’d enjoyed over the phone felt even better in person.

We also discovered plenty of little things we had in common, from our shared love of hotpot to our mutual talent for being fashionably late (we’re still working on that!). Looking back, those little details make us smile because they remind us that God has a wonderful sense of humor when He writes a love story.

And now, here we are, planning our wedding. We’re so grateful for the answered prayers and unexpected turns that brought us together. We couldn’t have written this story ourselves, but God did. We can’t wait to see what He has in store for the rest of it.
